We receive many calls and emails about cats and kittens, the main complaint is that they are very thin. All the cats, even owned ones that are well fed, tend to lose weight in the summer months, they lose a lot of their coat as the weather warms up and that contributes to their thin appearance. We have over 35 cats here and although they eat the same in the summer months they all appear a lot thinner. The only thing we can attribute this to, is some sort of protection from the heat. You must also bear in mind that the Greek cats do not have the same breed characteristics as the British cats. Their legs are longer and their faces are not so flat as the cats you are used to. The same cats that we get the complaints about in the summer are much fatter in the winter months, unfortunately, no tourists to see them!
