04-02 Wille Arrives

Two local ladies arrived with a little dog they had found under some olive trees. They think he had been there for two days.

We named him Willie - those who have met him know why! He is an overweight Chihuahua with attitude. We thought him the oddest looking creature when he arrived, and our dogs didn’t know what to make of him, so they did the usual and ignored him completely. He was not very keen on cats, and was brave enough to bark at them when they were near, but if they moved towards him he was off, bravery forgotten. Persil, the deaf cat, has cured him of this, he barked and growled at him but was (of course) completely ignored, so he has decided to return the compliment and ignore the cats.

When we weighed him he was grossly overweight at 5.6 kilos, so we now have him on a low fat diet and hopefully, the next few weeks should see a bit of improvement, which in turn will help his arthritis.

Is Willie the ugliest dog on the island? Never mind, everyone loves him anyway!
