Gerry had a bad eye infection after getting cat flu and both eyes had to be removed when he was about three months old. Being blind has little effect on him though, he accurately jumps up onto furniture and people every time and he can even catch flies if he wants to. He was originally kept inside the house for safety but still managed to jump off a 3rd floor balcony - at the only point where there was something to break his fall. He is now allowed outside where he happily plays with the other animals, climbs trees, comes when he is called and acts like a cat with all its faculties intact.
