Even though the November jumble was such a success, we still had a lot of good stuff left over. What’s more, it seemed to inspire everyone to look out yet more jumble, and soon the collection points were overflowing. Lambrini has always been enthusiastic about KATs and was anxious for us to hold a sale at her Eleios Taverna in Argostoli.
Well, we never look a gift horse in the mouth, so grabbed the opportunity. Sunday 12th saw the usual crowd of enthusiastic helpers frantically setting up, with queues already forming. Lambrini’s husband, Makis, was soon serving coffee to the helpers, and kept it coming throughout the day. When Carole went to settle the bill at the end of the day, he was most offended, and wouldn’t take a cent (or Lepto, as we say in Greece). As well as jumble, we had the usual handmade goods on sale, and also took the opportunity to sell more raffle tickets for Leo the Clown.
As well as serving at the stalls, Nicki made some corned-beef pies which proved very popular. As Carole had nicked the car, your humble editor had to walk into town, and arrived too late for a share. Our roving photojournalist was on the scene and captured the spirit of the day in the pictures below.
