Lugs was about 6 months old in October 2004, when Pat was asked by the vet if she would take him and try and help.

He had experienced some kind of trauma to his head, which resulted in one of his ears being almost completely torn off and the side of his face left open. The ear was literally hanging on by a sliver of flesh and Pat cleaned and nursed and bathed and worried, as she does.

Now Lugs has a well-healed ear. It healed upwards, back into its proper position on the top of his head and the open flesh wound isn’t visible at all. He is big and black and incredibly strong and boisterous - just a gangly teenager, really.

Lugs has now been re-homed.
