Now we’re becoming more proactive, we’re all keen to raise as much money as we can in Skala because what we raise here gets spent here. So, right at the end of the season, Nicky decided to give us a huge boost by organising a fundraising day.
She got people to sponsor her to shave her head and conducted raffles and auctions along the way, (many of which prizes were donated by local businesses).
Nicky had a bit of Dutch courage and a few tears were shed but, ever the professional, she pulled herself together and even sold locks of her hair to keep the euros coming in.
All told she raised more than 700 Euros in one day so we’re now considering how to do it even bigger and better next year. Any suggestions?
