Gertie was found by the side of the road, miles from anywhere, on Mothers’ Day this year (2006). She was only 2 days old and there was no sign of her mother or any other part of the herd. The people who found her were determined that she wouldn’t end up as part of someone’s Easter barbecue so, inevitably, she found herself at Villa Jomar. Gertie is growing fast and loves to climb on the donkeys’ backs to get up the trees. She has also been driving Pat mad climbing on top of the car and sliding down the windscreen using the wipers as brakes. She's turned into a real crowd pleaser and loves to put on a show for visitors.
