Polly The Poodle gets a Makeover

Pat’s account of the arrival and “makeover” of Polly the Poodle

At the end of March I received a phone call from a Greek lady who did not speak any English, and my Greek is not that good, I did understand that there was a little white dog living on the street in Argostoli and being kicked about. Later, her daughter called from Belgium, and explained in good English that her mother was very worried about the dog and she hoped we could we take it.

Later still, I received a call from our vet who asked me to collect a dog that had been left for me at the surgery. I did my usual - went in with one dog and came out with two!

Polly, as we decided to call her, was very odd looking: just a mass of knotted fur, but very loving. We decided she was in desperate need of a makeover!

Carole and I gave her a sedative and started to clip her, one bucket full of hair later she now looked like a lamb not a dog! I am no doggy hairdresser.

She is a lovely little dog, and has been offered a home in Germany in May, I am reluctant to part with her, but know that it has to be done.
