I don’t have the names of all the kind people who gave money to KATs and helped the animals around Skala this summer but you know who you are and if you’re reading this, hopefully you can see that you’ve helped to make a difference.
I only had first hand contact with people staying at the Eleana and I’m proud to say that there alone we raised 566.37 Euros. Many people apologised for only putting in a few coppers but can I say that those few coppers contributed to the total and if everybody did as much, the total would be even greater.
In addition to putting money in the box I’d also like to thank the following for some added extras:
- Hilary for leaving her beach towels for the shelter,
- Rita for donating various electrical goods to be auctioned at the fundraiser,
- Gareth & Ruth (see above),
- Leona who offered to approach the animal shelter where she volunteers to see if they could help with rehoming,
- Eilish & Lorna (see above),
- Steve who grumbled every time he put something in the box (which was often) but who then donated 30 Euros in change before he left anyway,
- Sophie for offering to display fund-raising posters at her mum’s kennels in the UK,
- Stephanie & Jo who have sent out a parcel of collars, blankets, bowls and assorted animal toys to be passed on to the shelter.
- The residents of Warfield Park in Berkshire who have donated goodie packs of leads & collars and sent money. Special thanks to Babs & Gerry and Thea & Toddy who have each sent out two lots of cash totalling almost £200.
- Lisa, a veterinary nurse, who has offered to send out supplies and medication which can no longer be used in the practice,
- Adrian & Chris who offered to approach their daughter (also a veterinary nurse) to see if she could do the same,
- Liz, a veterinary nurse who orders practice supplies. She has not only offered to send whatever she can but also to approach the sales reps to try and elicit more supplies for the charity.
PLUS a footnote from Antonia...
A BIG, BIG thank you to a little boy called Thomas who spent his holiday in Skala. He put a message in the collection tin when he donated 30p from his pocket money to help KATs help the Skala cats.
