In October, to add to her problems, the black & white one also had her foot run over by a motorbike. In desperation Nicky took her to Dr Dora (a people doctor). She gave the kitten a jab to counter the lurgy and bandaged her foot. Nicky fostered ‘Zaro’ to begin with and has now found her a permanent home with Mike in Poros. At the moment Anastasia is also staying there and the pair are constant playmates.
Mum, meanwhile, is being fed regularly by Lyn & Keith from the photo shop. They’ve also been dosing her with antibiotics and eye drops. Fortunately, Gourgouris is one of the few places open in the winter in Skala so she will doubtless still nab the odd titbit there (though locals aren’t so free with their leftovers as tourists). But, leaving nothing to chance, now Lyn & Keith have left for the UK she has become part of the winter feeding rota and we have also managed to give her an easier life by getting her neutered.
